On the 28th November 2017, I had the pleasure to meet artist Peter Davies and discuss his latest works showcased at the School Of Art, Aberystwyth. Titled, Peregrination. Much of this work centred around the concern with history, language, landscape, and social/political issues, often informed through the prism of Wales. The exhibition focused on his most recent works, but also covered a selected works over a span of some forty years.
Davies develops the idea of power struggle, the victory of one over the other, whether through language, commercialism, the environment or political power and patronage, this is most prominent in his work 'The Welsh Not'.- Standpoints 1995.
This wonderful exhibition ran between the 27th November 2017- 2nd February 2018.
