Contemplate the subject of a tree; their form, solidarity, visual beauty and spiritual messages they convey. I ‘am combining these factors together in order to create my own expressive narrative and language for the theme; conveying them primarily through lithography techniques and abstracted compositional layouts to create motifs. I have become intrigued by trees, bark and natural elements since moving to the idyllic landscapes of Aberystwyth. Here, I have created a repeated motif using Photographic lithography techniques, showcasing a print of both a positive and negative image repeated in perfect symmetry. I am developing this idea further in the approaching weeks, taking influences from my artist research portfolio and attempting to develop this into some sort of motif booklet.
